Every October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dubz BBQ proudly hosts one of the most meaningful events of the year — Barbecue for Boobies. What started as a fun, community-driven fundraiser has grown into an annual tradition that brings people together for a cause far bigger than barbecue alone.
This year’s BBQ for Boobies Cornhole Tournament, held on Friday, October 18th, was another powerful reminder of what can happen when good food, good people, and a good mission come together.
From the moment the boards were set up and the smokers were rolling, the energy was high. Guests showed up wearing pink, playing cornhole, enjoying great BBQ, and supporting one another — all while contributing to breast cancer awareness in a tangible way.
The event featured:
All funds raised through cornhole games and raffles — along with 10% of all food sales for the entire day — were donated to Dollars for Mammograms, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals access life-saving breast cancer screenings.
Dollars for Mammograms plays a critical role in the community by providing financial assistance for mammograms and diagnostic testing for those who might otherwise go without. Early detection saves lives, and this organization helps remove barriers to care when it matters most.
Thanks to the overwhelming support from the community, $7,000 was raised during this year’s event. That number represents more than dollars — it represents awareness, early detection, peace of mind, and lives that may be changed because people chose to show up and give back.
At Dubz BBQ, food has always been about more than what’s on the plate. It’s about gathering, connection, and community. Barbecue for Boobies is a reflection of that belief — using what we do best to support causes that directly impact the people we serve every day.
